BIGKID Africa grows out of more than two decades of youth work pioneered through BIGKID Foundation in the UK. Since our beginnings in London, BIGKID has worked with thousands of young people facing some of the toughest social challenges, using sport, mentoring, leadership development and trusted relationships to help them build confidence, make positive choices and become leaders in their communities. Our work in the UK has shown that when young people are given the right support, the right opportunities and adults who believe in them, their potential is not limited by their circumstances.

Over the years, BIGKID has become recognised for its practical, relationship-centred approach to youth violence prevention, school engagement, character development and leadership. Programmes such as Breaking Barriers, community mentoring, youth leadership and sport-based engagement have helped young people move from the margins into spaces of responsibility, influence and aspiration. BIGKID Africa is the next chapter of that legacy - taking the learning, values and proven approach developed in the UK and applying them in an African context, with local leadership, local partnerships and a deep commitment to raising a generation of young people who can transform their communities from within.
